ZOA: U.S. Should End Relations With Arafat Arafat’s Palestinian Authority Calls America “The Enemy” And “Supporter Of Fascists And Mafias”
NEW YORK- A stream of anti-American statements have been circulated by Yasir Arafat’s official media in recent days.
An article in the official Palestinian Authority newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah, on Jan. 28, 2002, stated:
“America from the start did not deserve the role of sponsor but that of the enemy. What is the U.S. position if not an attempt to ignite the fire of civil war in the Palestinian arena, to provide cover for Israeli crimes, to ensconce the stages of comprehensive violence in the region and to threaten stability? Washington supports Jewish fundamentalists, dictatorships and fascist states, sponsors rotten governments, is the source of authority for Mafias.”
A sermon delievered at the Al Aksa Mosque and broadcast on the PA’s official Voice of Palestine Radio on January 25, 2002, included these statements:
“O Muslims.the soldiers of Islam will continue the battle that has been going on throughout history between faith and infidelity [heresy]. In spite of everything, Muslims and Islam will be victorious and Palestine and the Al Aksa Mosque will return…This will happen when the nation believes in Allah its creator, and prays to him, and not, as some people say, that the only thing left for the Arabs to do is beg for charity from America the enemy of nations.”

Morton A. Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), said: “While Americans are mourning the September 11 attacks, and while American soldiers are risking their lives to fight terrorists in Afghanistan, Yasir Arafat’s official media are inciting Palestinian Arabs to hatred and violence against America. It is astonishing that the U.S. continues giving $100-million to the Palestinian Arabs each year, even though their regime calls America a promoter of Arab civil wars and a supporter of fasists and mafias. We urge the Bush administration to end all relations with Arafat and the Palestinian Authority, including a halt to all funding to the Palestinian Arabs.”
