ZOA: U.S. Should End
Relations With Arafat

NEW YORK- Yasir Arafat’s official radio station has broadcast a sermon denouncing America as “the country of brutality.”

The sermon, which was delivered at the Al Aksa Mosque in Jerusalem and broadcast on the PA’s official Voice of Palestine Radio on February 15, 2002, included these statements:

“Let us hope that Allah will unite the Muslims and defeat their enemies. Will Muslims realize that the country of brutality, America, is threatening them with punishment and torture if they do not go its way and follow its orders, according to its new world order, which it imposed on Muslims to change their language of religious education, this order of individuals, the new criminal [order]…

“We are not asking for the impossible, and we know that Muslims to do not have the strength required to confront the arrogance of America and the great countries of the world, but the unity of the Muslims perhaps will prevent this loss and this disgrace which has harmed the [Islamic] action.” [Translation courtesy of Palestinian Media Watch.]

Morton A. Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), said: “While Americans are mourning the September 11 attacks, and while American soldiers are risking their lives to fight terrorists in Afghanistan, Yasir Arafat’s official media are inciting Palestinian Arabs to hatred and violence against America. It is astonishing that the U.S. continues giving $100-million to the Palestinian Arabs each year, even though their regime calls America ‘a country of brutality.’ We urge the Bush administration to end all relations with Arafat and the Palestinian Authority, including a halt to all funding to the Palestinian Arabs.”
