There Should Be
Zero Tolerance for Terrorism

NEW YORK- The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) strongly objects to the remark by a senior adviser to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon that Israel is insisting only “that the Palestinian Authority will reduce terrorism to a tolerable level.”

Sharon adviser Dov Weisglass made the remark in a discussion with American Jewish leaders several days ago.

ZOA National President Morton A. Klein, chairman of the board Dr. Alan Mazurek, and Dr. Michael Goldblatt, chairman of the National Executive Committee, sent a letter to Prime Minister Sharon in which they wrote:

“We are shocked and appalled that one of your advisers would state that there is a level of anti-Israel terrorism which is ‘tolerable.’ No terrorism, no level of murder of Israelis, should ever be considered tolerable. There should be zero tolerance for terrorism. The statement by Dov Weisglass can only encourage terrorists to intensify their attacks. We cannot believe that Mr. Weisglass’s statement represents the policy of the Israeli government. We therefore urge you to issue a clear and unequivocal refutation of Weisglass’s statement.”
