Israeli Military: Palestinian Terror Attacks Against Jews Will Resume After Completion Of Gaza Withdrawal
News Press Release
April 1, 2005

NEW YORK – Israel’s largest newspaper, Yediot Ahronot (April 1, 2005), reported that the Palestinian terror/murder war against the Jews of Israel will resume as soon as Israel completes the forced deportation and transfer of 9000 Jews according to the Sharon/Bush Gaza withdrawal plan. Military sources said that the focus of renewed Palestinian terror attacks will be in Judea and Samaria, especially major roads, military camps, and Jewish communities there.

The Palestinian Arabs will use mortar and Kassam rockets to attack the trans-Israel Highway and on the cities of the coastal plain. The IDF Central command said it is already preparing for the next round of armed conflict with the Palestinian Arabs.

To further confirm this report, the Jerusalem Post wrote on March 31 that an internal Shin Bet document said that Hizbullah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas have intensified their efforts to smuggle weapons from Egypt to cells operating in Judea and Samaria. The document stated that from last summer to this winter, 180 anti-tank rockets, 600 kg. Of explosives, 3000 rifles, 400 handguns and 400,000 rounds of ammunition were smuggled from Egypt to Judea, Samaria and Gaza. A security official said that “terror groups abroad have intensified their efforts in recent months to smuggle weapons from Egypt to the Negev to the West Bank and Gaza.” Another route is by sea. Weapons are coming in through fishing boats as well.

Although Israel has arrested numerous Arabs trying to smuggle these weapons into Gaza, Judea and Samaria, many others make it through.

ZOA President Morton A. Klein said, “an Israeli military official I met with in Israel last month told me that Egypt could stop this smuggling from Sinai in 48 hours with only 70 soldiers but that Egypt’s President Mubarak refuses to do it. The ZOA has written a letter to President Bush urging him to reduce aid to Egypt if Mubarak refuses to stop the weapons smuggling used to murder Jews.

“It is also deeply troubling that Palestinian chief Mahmoud Abbas does nothing about these weapons caches, making it clear he has no interest in real peace with Israel.

“This IDF report of a post-Gaza terror war proves the horrific danger of the Sharon/Bush appeasement policy toward the Palestinian Arabs. ZOA has sent a telegram to Prime Minister Sharon that his Gaza policy is wrong on the moral grounds of forcibly deporting 9000 Jews from their homes and livelihoods, on the religious grounds of giving away holy Biblical Jewish land to Arabs for nothing, and on the security grounds of rewarding terror and thereby encouraging more terror. This IDF report certainly proves the latter.

“We urge PM Sharon and President Bush to stop this dangerous folly now. This plan harms the US war against Islamic terror. If Al-Quada sees Bush and Sharon rewarding terror in Israel, they know it is only a matter of time before terror against Americans will pay dividends elsewhere — thereby encouraging more terror against Americans.”

“All one needs to know about how the Gaza appeasement/reward terror plan is being viewed by Islamic terrorists is to read the statement by Hamas spokesman Ahmed al-Bahar that he issued last week. Bahar claimed,

“‘The painful and qualitative blows which the Palestinian resistance dealt to the Jews and their soldiers over the past four and a half years led to the decision to withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

“‘All indications show that since its establishment, Israel has never been in such a state of retreat and weakness as it is today, following more than four years of the intifada,’ he continued. ‘Hamas’s heroic attacks exposed the weakness and volatility of the impotent Zionist security establishment. The withdrawal marks the end of the Zionist dream and is a sign of the moral and psychological decline of the Jewish state. We believe that the resistance is the only way to pressure the Jews.'”
