Two Weeks in Abbas’ P.A.: More Jew-Killers Honored, Jews Again Labelled “Enemies of Allah”

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has pointed again to another two-week period in which glorification of terrorist murder, incitement to hatred and violence and Muslim supremacism have been prominent within Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority (PA), which is funded by, among others, the U.S. taxpayer. Two suicide bombers, Ali Ja’ara and Muhammad Za’ul, were honored on official PA Television, as was terrorist masterminds Ibrahim Hamad, who planed suicide bombings that claimed the lives of 54 Israelis, and Abbas Al-Sayid, who mastermind the Passover 2002 suicide bombing in Netanya that claimed 35 lives, as well as other imprisoned terrorists. Also, Israelis were accused of spreading drugs in Palestinian society by several PA officials and a PA columnist labelled Jews “enemies of Allah.”

  • On June 11, PA TV glorified Ibrahim Hamad and other terrorists, broadcasting for a second time a music video honoring terrorist prisoners, including Ibrahim Hamed, who is currently serving 45 life sentences for orchestrating suicide bombings at Hebrew University (9 killed), Cafe Moment (12 killed), Cafe Hillel (7 killed), and Abbas Al-Sayid, serving 35 life sentences for planning the suicide bombing at the Jewish Passover Seder in Netanya (30 killed), and others. The video opens with a speech by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas calling for the release of all Palestinian prisoners, saying, “We will not rest until all [prisoners] are freed, and the prisons are emptied” (PA TV (Fatah), May 7 and June 11, 2012, ‘PA TV glorifies Palestinian terrorists who killed over 100 civilians in video by Palestinian national band,’ Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) bulletin, June 24, 2012); and ‘PA TV: Suicide bombers who killed 19 civilians on buses are ‘more honored than all of us,’” PMW bulletin, July 8, 2012).

  • On June 1, during a Palestinian Authority TV News broadcast from a burial ceremony for suicide terrorists whose bodies were handed over to the PA last month, the PA TV reporter described the funeral of Ali Ja’ara who murdered 11 in a January 2004 suicide bombing, and Muhammad Za’ul who murdered 8 in a February 2004 suicide bombing, as follows: “This is Palestine, which embraces its Martyr sons, who are more honored than all of us, and which sends a message to the whole world that its Martyrs are not numbers, but rather a candle that lights the tunnel of liberty for the Palestinian people on the way to independence” (PA TV (Fatah), June 1, 2012, translation in ‘PA TV: Suicide bombers who killed 19 civilians on buses are “more honored than all of us,”’ Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) bulletin, July 8, 2012).

  • On June 1, Sheikh Taleb Al-Silwadi, a regular columnist on religious affairs in the official Palestinian Authority daily chose to describe Jews/Israelis as Allah’s enemies, the children of Zion.” He wrote, “One of the established facts is that the voice of falsehood does not rebel [against the truth] except where those who hold the truth [Muslims] forego their truth. Then there becomes room for falsehood, such that it can kill, behave violently, spill blood, and desecrate sacred things. That is what Allah’s enemies, the children of Zion, are doing before the eyes and ears of the entire world” (Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 1, 2012, translation in ‘PA daily: Jews/Israelis are enemies of Allah,’ PMW bulletin, June 26, 2012).
