Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein released the following statement:

Just when you think that the United Nations couldn’t possibly sink any lower, the UN adopts yet another unbelievably deplorable resolution that supports genocidal Palestinian Arab terrorists against human rights-loving Israel and innocent Jewish victims of Palestinian Arab terror. The UN General Assembly’s newest anti-Israel resolution, adopted on September 18, is reminiscent of the Nazis’ Nuremberg laws in its perverse attacks on Jews. The resolution turns international law, decency, truth, morality, and the UN’s raison d’être upside down.  

The lengthy UNGA resolution was adopted by a vote of 124 in favor to 14 against (with 43 abstentions), and was introduced by the non-existent, never-existent, imaginary “State of Palestine” (the UN’s name for the Palestinian Authority terror regime which continues to pay Arab terrorists lifetime pensions to murder Jews).  The UNGA resolution demands that the entire world gang up on Israel; leave Israel defenseless; destroy Israel and her citizens economically; and bring about Israel’s total destruction. 

The UNGA resolution includes calls for: 

• Evicting every Jew, within 12 months, from the areas that the UN falsely calls “Occupied Palestinian Territories.” Those areas include Judea/Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and its Jewish Quarter and the Jewish people’s holiest sites, Gaza and the Golan. In fact, Israel has the historic, religious and legal right to these areas under binding international law. These areas were included in the Mandate for the Jewish homeland; which required that none of this territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of, the Government of any foreign Power. And notably, the UN Charter continued those rights. The UN is thus the party that is acting illegally. (See ZOA Summary of Israel’s rights to the land.) Moreover, Israel would be indefensible if Israel exited from all these areas.

It is particularly horrifying that the UNGA is calling for 800,000 Jews to be forcibly removed from their homes in Jerusalem and Judea/Samaria at a time when 100,000 Jews cannot return to their homes in southern Israel due to Hamas, and 80,000 Jews cannot return to their homes in northern Israel due to constant Hezbollah rocket fire. Where are we supposed to live?

• Enabling Palestinian Arabs to “return” to all of Israel, to overrun the Jewish state. Thus, according to the UNGA resolution, Arabs can live in and move into all parts of Israel – but Jews must be evicted from their homes.  Such breathtaking classic medieval antisemitism!

• Maintaining anti-Israel arms and munitions embargos “in all cases where there are reasonable grounds to believe” that the arms or munitions will be used in areas that the UN again falsely calls “Occupied Palestinian Territories.” Those areas include the terror strongholds where the Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Fatah terror armies and terror cells launch their murderous rockets and attacks on Jews. As Breitbart editor Joel Pollak put it, the UN General Assembly resolution “effectively prohibit[s] Israeli self-defense against terror.”

• Dismantling the wall (security fence) constructed by Israel during the Second Intifada to stop Palestinian Arab terror attacks emanating from Arab portions of Judea/Samaria. Again, the resolution’s aim is to render Jews defenseless and cause them to be murdered. 

• Requiring Israel to “not impede” the creation of a Palestinian (terror) state over all of Judea/Samaria, eastern Jerusalem (including the Jewish Quarter and holy sites), Gaza, etc. Creating such a state would render Israel indefensible and violate international law – but the UNGA resolution turns international law on its head by falsely claiming that the Palestinian Arabs are entitled to a state on the territories to which Israel has the sovereign rights.

Notably, the UN is well aware that Hamas, Iran and other terror groups would end up governing such a state. In July, UN Secretary General António Guterres outrageously “very much welcomed” the unity agreement signed by Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian terror groups.

• Absurdly requiring Israel to pay “reparations” to Palestinian Arabs because Jews have been living in the Jewish people’s own homelands of Judea/Samaria and the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem, etc.

• Boycotting Israeli products, businesses and trade relations that may be related to, or “entrench” the Jewish presence in the areas that the Palestinian Arabs, with the UN’s complicity, are illegally attempting to wrest away from their rightful Jewish owners.  Because businesses are intertwined, such boycotts effectively amount to boycotts of all of Israel.

• Implementing sanctions, including travel bans and asset freezes, against innocent Jews and Jewish organizations involved in maintaining Israel’s presence in the Jewish homeland.

• Keeping international consulates out of Jerusalem.  

• Convening conferences to implement the foregoing sickening demands.

And more.

In sum, the UNGA resolution is an utter outrage and atrocity. Congress should cut off UN funding and consider throwing the UN out of the U.S. altogether.  The UN has become a thoroughly antisemitic entity that is causing far more harm than good.  

The UN was formed following World War II largely to make sure that the Holocaust – in which a third of world Jewry was murdered – never happens again. Yet now, ironically, the UN is doing everything within its power to foment the destruction of Jews and the Jewish homeland.

It’s also disappointing that the UNGA resolution’s co-sponsors included three Arab nations that signed peace agreements with Israel – Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt. Some “peace partners”!
