Morton Klein blasts Golan’s claim that Israel kills babies “as a hobby,” warning that it’s a grotesque lie that fuels antisemitism, Israel-bashing and emboldens Israel’s enemies.

(May 20, 2025 / The J.CA) The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has issued a scathing rebuke of extremist Yair Golan, head of a radical left-wing party in Israel and former IDF deputy chief of staff, after Golan accused Israel of “killing babies in Gaza as a hobby.” ZOA National President Morton A. Klein condemned Golan’s remarks as “absurd” and “dangerous,” and a grotesque lie, warning that such slander only fuels the global surge in antisemitism and hands ammunition to Israel’s enemies.
“Yair Golan has been closely involved with every extremist left-wing party in Israel who’s been pathetically wrong about every issue, from praising Oslo, the Gaza withdrawal, as well as terrorists Arafat and Abbas,” Klein stated. He emphasized that Golan’s latest accusation ignores the reality that Israel is a world leader in protecting enemy civilians during wartime, often going to extraordinary lengths to minimize harm, even at great risk to its own soldiers.
Klein warned that Golan’s rhetoric will be “praised by every Jew-hating Israel basher on earth,” as it helps them promote antisemitic propaganda and delegitimize the Jewish state. In the current climate of rising anti-Israel hatred and violence, such statements are not only reckless, they are dangerous.
“There should be an outcry for Golan to step down from all his political positions,” Klein declared. “He is a traitor to Israel and the Jewish people.”
The ZOA’s condemnation underscores the deep concern within the Jewish and pro-Israel communities about the impact of internal slander. As Israel faces existential threats and a wave of antisemitism worldwide, the need for unity and moral clarity has never been greater. The organization calls on all responsible leaders to reject such blood libels and stand up for truth, justice, and the safety of Jews everywhere.
