The Zionist Organization of America is proud to announce that former Presidential candidates Gov. Mike Huckabee and U.S. Congressmember Michele Bachmann, as well as global philanthropists/humanitarians Sheldon Adelson and Dr. Miriam Adelson, will headline the ZOA Brandeis Dinner on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City.
Myron Zimmerman of San Francisco, real estate magnate and pro-Israel philanthropist, will receive the Louis D. Brandeis Award. Dr. Anne Bayefsky, Director of the Institute for Human Rights and the Holocaust at Touro College Law School and former professor of law at Columbia University, will receive the Ben Hecht Award for Outstanding Journalism. Mr. Tyler Korn, principal of the Korn Legal Group in Naples, Florida, formerly with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison of New York City, will receive the Cherna and Irving Moskowitz Award.
Mr. Sheldon Adelson and Dr. Miriam Adelson will present the Adelson Defender of Israel Award to Gov. Mike Huckabee, host of the popular “Huckabee” show. Gov. Huckabee is also the Keynote Speaker. U.S. Cong. Bachmann will speak on issues affecting the United States and Israel. Dr. Anne Bayefsky will speak on the U.N. and Israel. Nationally known Rabbi Shmuley Boteach will deliver the D’var Torah.
Mr. James Tisch and Mr. Ken Bialkin are Co-Chairs of the Dinner. Mr. Tisch is CEO of Loews Corp. and a past Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. Mr. Bialkin is a senior partner at the law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and is also a past Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
Queens College’s award winning Jewish a capella singing group, “Tizmoret,” as well as a popular Klezmer band, will perform.
