This is a bad and frightening mistake to choose Dianne Lob, the Chair of left-wing non-Jewish HIAS, as the new Chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The Jew-hating Israel-basher Linda Sarsour’s fundraiser for HIAS happened while Dianne Lob was HIAS Chair. HIAS does not resettle Jews, but mostly and largely Jew-hating Israel-hating Muslims. ADL polls show 75-93 % of Mideast Muslims are antisemites. HIAS also co-signed letters with IfNotNow, JVP, J Street, MPAC (which has called for Israel’s destruction) and has working relationships with the terrorist group Islamic Relief USA and Israel basher CAIR. And do we really want HIAS’ Mark Hetfield, who signed a letter defending Israel hater Sarsour whispering in Dianne Lob’s ear while Lob is the Conference of Presidents Chair.

HIAS is not a Jewish organization-it is more appropriately called a Muslim organization. If HIAS applied for membership in the Conference today, they would surely be rejected. Their primary mission is not to advocate for Jews and Israel but to lobby for and resettle in America mostly Muslim refugees – not Jewish refugees. (The admissions requirement to be a member of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations is to have as your primary mission to advocate for Israel and the Jewish people – HIAS’ primary mission is surely not that.) And you see what radical Muslims have done to Jews and others in Europe. That’s why Jew-hater Sarsour raises money for HIAS. Do you think Sarsour would raise money for a pro-Israel Jewish group like AIPAC or ZOA or Bnai Brith or the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

And Ms. Dianne Lob’s knowledge of the Arab-Israel situation is limited. In her role as Chair of HIAS, her duty was to think about resettling refugees, not how to think about helping Israel and the Jewish people. In meetings with important officials, she likely does not have the background or experience to know what’s best to ask or how best to respond.

We believe that Ms. Dianne Lob is not the right person to chair the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
