ZOA Co-Sponsors Rally Against Global Terrorism At Berkeley

New York – The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is co-sponsoring a Rally Against Global Terrorism in Berkeley, California at 11AM on Sunday, January 16, 2005. The Rally will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr., Park at the Berkeley Civic Center near the University of California/Berkeley campus.


The Rally is being organized by Suzanne Kalter DeWitt, a Holocaust survivor from Germany, who survived Dachau. General Jim Hutchens, President of Christians for Israel and Rev. Rosemary Schindler are also among the organizers.


The ZOA also helped bring from Washington, DC to this rally the burned-out suicide bombed Jerusalem Bus #19. The bus was bombed on January 29, 2004.


Joining Morton A. Klein, President of the ZOA, as speakers at this rally will be Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Nonie Darwish of Arabs for Israel, Shirley Dean, former mayor of Berkeley, Yatindra Bhatnagar, Indian author and journalist, and David Bedein, Bureau Chief of Israel Resources News Agency.


There will be music provided by 11 Shakha Hindu Singers and Cantor Pam Sawyer and Achi Ben Shalom. The program will begin with a mourners Kaddish ceremony for all terror victims.
