Second Night to Honor Israel planned in Rochester

(Catholic Courier Publication Date:  03-18-2008)

Bethel Christian Fellowship Church, 321 East Ave., Rochester, will host the second-annual Greater Rochester Night to Honor Israel at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30.

The event is an initiative of Christians United for Israel, a group dedicated to showing nondenominational and nonpartisan support for Israel. Last year, the Rochester event raised more than $25,000 for humanitarian needs in Israel.

Keynote speaker for the event is Morton A. Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America. Other speakers will include leaders from the Jewish community, a senior diplomatic representative of the state of Israel, Mayor Robert Duffy, County Executive Maggie Brooks and state Sen. Joseph Robach, R-Greece.
