Abbas’ P.A. Continues to Promote Anti-Semitic Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion
News Press Release
March 7, 2013

Mahmoud Abbas’ Palestinian Authority (PA)-controlled media continues to promote the classic anti-Semitic tract, produced by the Tsarist secret police at the turn of last century, that inspired Hitler and Nazism, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, with both PA TV broadcasting and the Maan Network, promoting the tract in the past month. PA promotion of the Protocols has been standard for years and dozens of instances of this can be found here

  • On February 9,      the Maan News Agency, an NGO founded in 2002 with Danish and Dutch      government funding, published an opinion piece by Dr. Walid Shomaly      headlined, ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion: Where do we stand as far      as they are concerned?’ In it, Shomaly treated the Protocols as a true,      historical record of an alleged plan formulated by Jewish leaders “to      infiltrate the world and take it over.” Shomaly then proceeds to outline      the contents of the Protocols and asks, “Now, after this quick review of a      few of these protocols, one wonders if the Jews belong to some other kind      of human species, different from other nations. From where does all this      evil and destructive energy derive? Do all the other nations deserve all      this evil and hostility, just so that Jews may control them? Do all      nations other than Jews really have clouded minds? … ‘May Allah help us,      we the children of Palestine bent under the yoke of the cruelest settler      occupation that modern history has known; this people that the Zionist      movement’s leaders want to subject to the ‘illusions of their Protocols’      with all their evil ideas that contradict human nature of the inhabitants      of this planet.” (Ma’an, February. 9, 2013, translation in ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion alive and well in      the PA,’ Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) bulletin, February 25,      2013).

  • On February 3,      PA-TV,  controlled by Fatah, Mahmoud Abbas’ party which controls the      PA, broadcast a statement by a cleric, Imam Salah Al-Mitan, who declared,      “Our enemies say: ‘A glass of wine and a pretty woman can harm Muhammad’s      nation more than a thousand canons. We must strive to destroy the moral      values so that we can easily rule the world.’ That’s in The Protocols of      the Elders of Zion” (PA TV (Fatah), February 3, 2012, translation in ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion alive and well in      the PA,’ Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) bulletin, February 25,      2013).

ZOA National Chairman of the Board Dr. Michael Goldblatt said, “ PA broadcast and articles of this type, of which scores of examples exist, inform us that the Arab war on Israel continues because Jews and Israel are portrayed as inhuman, malignant forces that wish nothing other than the destruction and ruination of all people in the world.

“Jews are presented as an implacable foe upon whose destruction the future of the world depends. Is it any wonder Palestinian children grow up with hatred and loathing and seek to become terrorists? How can Palestinian society, and especially Palestinian youth, nurtured through its official media on the idea that they owe it to their religion and to humanity to destroy the Jews, embrace peace, compromise and reconciliation?

“We need yet again to ask the question: Why do we fund an entity like the PA that inculcates precisely the most poisonous anti-Semitism which prevents peace from being attained?

“The ZOA renews its call for terminating U.S. aid to the PA until and unless it arrests terrorists, outlaws terrorist groups and ends the incitement to hatred and murder in the PA-controlled media, mosques, schools and youth camps that feeds war and terrorism.”
