Sen. Schumer’s Silence is Deafening – He Must Condemn This Outrage
Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton A. Klein released the following statement:
Yesterday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) demonstrated that he was a moral giant and a great friend of the Jewish state and the Jewish people by blocking Jew-hating groups from holding an antisemitic “Nakba 75” event featuring Israelophobic Jew-haters Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Cori Bush (D-MO) at the Capitol Visitor Center. Deplorably, socialist extremist Senator Bernie Sanders (I/D-VT) then acted immorally by hosting Tlaib and other Jew-haters’ libelous “Nakba 75” event in a U.S. Senate Committee room. Rashida Tlaib appeared with fellow “Squad” Jew-hater Cori Bush to libel and bash Jews and the Jewish state.
ZOA urges that extremist bigots Rep. Tlaib and Bush and Sen. Sanders be removed from every committee. They do not represent American values.
Senate Majority Leader Schumer did nothing to stop this despicable antisemitic spectacle, which abused taxpayer-funded Senate committee space, and says that he didn’t know about it. ZOA strongly urges Senator Schumer to at least condemn the Nakba 75 event after the fact.
“Nakba 75” promotes the sick, twisted, hateful, genocidal concept that it is a “catastrophe” that Israel has managed to survive, and that the Arabs failed to totally destroy Israel’s Jewish population and homeland in 1948 or in the 75 years since then. By hosting this event, Sanders sickeningly (once again) helped those that seek to wipe Israel and every Jew (including himself) off the map. (Sanders’ anti-Israel record also includes proudly announcing on his website that he was attempting to block weapons sales to Israel – during the very same week in May 2021 when Hamas shot 4,600 rockets at Israeli civilians – and making wildly-inflated claims about “innocent” Palestinian casualties in Gaza.)
“Nakba 75” is based on the perverse lie – promoted by Tlaib at her “Nakba 75” event – that Jews “ethnically cleansed” Palestinian Arabs in 1948 and are still doing so. The facts are the exact opposite of this. In 1948, local Arabs and six invading Arab nations murdered 1% of Israel’s population (over 6,000 innocent Jews) and injured 2% of Israel’s population (over 12,000 innocent Jews). Palestinian Arab terrorists have murdered and maimed thousands more innocent Jews since then, including: this year, in the Palestinian Arab shooting attack at a Jerusalem synagogue in January (killing seven Jewish worshippers and persons who came to assist them); Arabs that murdered three sets of innocent Jewish siblings and children; and more. Meanwhile, Israel’s Arab population is now 10 times as large as it was in 1948. Some genocide!
ZOA praises Israeli Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli for responding to Tlaib’s event by tweeting a photograph of Palestinian Arab Grand Mufti and Hitler collaborator Haj Amin al Husseini making the Nazi salute while greeting Nazi troops. When Tlaib spreads her libels, the world needs to be reminded that the murderous Palestinian Arab leaders and Arab terrorists are the real perpetrators of genocide – and that the genocide continues to be Palestinian Arabs murdering innocent Jewish people.
The “Nakba 75” organizers were a “who’s who” of worst antisemitic anti-Israel organizations that specialize in boycotting and libeling Jews and Israel, and engage in activities to destroy the Jewish state.
