Geneva Accord Rewards
and Validates Terror

NEW YORK- The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has strongly praised the statement by House Majority Leader Tom DeLay that the rogue Geneva Plan is “illegitimate and dangerous.”

In a December 4 statement, Rep. DeLay (R-TX), who was the featured speaker at last month’s ZOA national dinner in New York City, also said:

“The murder, the violence, and the terror must stop. An end to Palestinian terror is not a concession in peace talks, it is a prerequisite to them. There is no moral equivalence between Palestinian terrorism and Israeli self-defense, and until the violence stops, Israel must defend herself as she sees fit. The sooner all nations acknowledge this fundamental reality, the sooner peace will be possible in the Middle East.

“Entertaining freelance peace plans like the Geneva Plan that morally equate terrorism and self-defense is not only counterproductive to the peace process, but dangerous in its validation of terrorists and terrorism. No wonder Yasser Arafat likes this thing.”

ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said: “Majority Leader Tom DeLay deserves the strongest praise for publicly making clear that the rogue Geneva Plan rewards terror and encourages terror. Congressman DeLay’s statement is also a welcome reminder to the Israeli people that they have strong support on Capitol Hill, and need not feel that they must succumb to international pressure for one-sided concessions. The Bush administration, which has declared that it wants to bring democracy to the Middle East, should not be legitimizing the rogue activities of those who were overwhelmingly defeated in Israel’s last election and are undermining the wishes of the Israeli people.”
