The ZOA mourns the passing of Seymour (Sy) Pikofsky, Esq., a long-time ZOA leader.  A resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sy served as an officer of ZOA’s Board for many years.  He was both a National Vice President and Chair of the Executive Committee.

“He was as loyal and devoted to ZOA and Israel as anyone I’ve ever met…  he will be sorely missed.”

Morton A. Klein, ZOA President, stated, “Sy was both a brilliant attorney and a brilliant Zionist.  He cared deeply about the holy land of Israel and about his fellow Jews.  There was no one more eloquent than my dear friend Sy when it came to defending Israel and promoting ZOA.  He was hard working and fearless, humble and kind.  Until his recent illness, I spoke to Sy regularly and learned so much from him.

He was both a gentleman and a relentless fighter and activist.  ZOA’s agenda was Sy’s agenda, and Sy’s agenda was ZOA’s agenda.  He was as loyal and devoted to ZOA and Israel as anyone I’ve ever met.  Whatever he could do to help – he did – and Sy always made you feel good about our work.  He will be sorely missed.”

The ZOA expresses our sincere condolences to his wife and daughters and family and friends.  May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion.
