Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein released the following statement:

The ZOA thanks Nassau County, New York legislator Mazi Pilip for her anti-masking bill, expected to be signed into law by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman at 1 p.m. on Monday August 5, 2024 at the Nassau County Legislature, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, Long Island, NY 11501.  If you are in the vicinity of Nassau County on Monday August 5, please attend the signing ceremony.

The bill aims to prevent violent rioters from avoiding prosecution by masking their identity.  For instance, Manhattan prosecutors dropped all charges against dozens of violent antisemitic rioters who took over a building at Columbia University, citing uncertainty about the masked rioters’ identity.  The anti-masking bill is an important step in bringing violent rioters to justice. The bill has exceptions for those who need to wear masks for health reasons.  We hope that other counties and states will follow the example of Nassau County.
