POSITION: Chicago Regional Director, Chicago Based
REPORTS TO: National Executive Director / National President
Founded in 1897, ZOA is the leading major American Jewish organization courageously defending Israel and the Jewish people; fighting against all forms of antisemitism; and promoting the Jewish people’s lawful right to live in and settle historic Jewish land in Israel. ZOA’s bold, unapologetic voice has significant impact on public discourse and policy.
The Chicago Regional Director is responsible for all fundraising efforts in the region: including cultivating new major donors and stewarding existing donors. The Chicago Regional Director will be responsible for effectively representing ZOA, presenting ZOA’s mission, and for expanding successful outreach and donor engagement in Chicago, Illinois and the surrounding territory.
Primary responsibilities:
- Oversee all fundraising and outreach efforts in the Chicago region, including targeted parlor meetings, one-on-one interactions, and larger community programs.
- Generate new donations and compel increased giving from existing donors.
- Interacts with ZOA national leadership to leverage ZOA’s national prominence in the region.
- Facilitate periodic meeting tour for ZOA National President
- Plan and execute annual Chicago Regional Gala
Secondary responsibilities:
- Assist in the marketing of outreach and donor engagement opportunities.
- Work in conjunction with ZOA’s major gift cultivation and solicitation efforts
- Assist ZOA in promoting national programs, events, and missions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Passion for ZOA’s mission.
- Pride and professionalism in work accomplishments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong command of Israel and Middle East history, politics, and culture.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the American Jewish community.
- Ability to solve problems, to multi-task and to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and lay leadership.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; able to identify and pursue opportunities.
- Availability for travel throughout the region. Occasionally travel around the country.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate early morning, evening, and weekend meetings/programs.
- Fundraising experience required.
