Dear Fellow Zionist,
As we gather with family and community for Rosh Hashana and hear the stirring call of the shofar, we are reminded that this holiday is not only a time of reflection, but also a moment of responsibility. The State of Israel and the Jewish people face enemies who openly seek our destruction.
The Rosh Hashana messages of accountability, awakening, and urgency demand vigilance, courage, and resolve. Today, as Israel confronts Iran and its terrorist proxies, and Jews worldwide face a constant threat, ZOA is sounding the alarm. This is a time not only to reflect on the past, but also to defend our future with strength and truth.

ZOA led and won the historic fight to change the interpretation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, securing long-denied legal protections for Jewish students facing harassment and discrimination in elementary schools, high schools, and universities nationwide. ZOA also submitted the first-ever Title VI complaint investigated by the federal government on behalf of Jewish students. Without ZOA’s groundbreaking work, none of today’s antisemitism lawsuits against universities and school districts would be possible.
The ZOA Center for Law and Justice, headed by Susan Tuchman, Esq., has filed numerous cases and complaints to protect the civil rights of Jews in schools, on campus, in the workplace, and in unions. ZOA recently helped protect the religious freedom of Jewish employees by filing an amicus brief in support of a Jewish employee whose Sabbath observance accommodations were revoked in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. ZOA also assisted a Jewish doctor who was suspended from his position and targeted in an antisemitic smear campaign.

ZOA submitted an amicus brief in support of Jewish teachers who are forced to maintain their union membership even as the union engages in antisemitic conduct. ZOA recently filed a lawsuit, in partnership with Tulley Rinckey PLLC, on behalf of a Jewish student who endured three years of antisemitic discrimination at a New York public school. ZOA’s complaint against Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia is being investigated by the federal government.

ZOA Government Relations, headed by Dan Pollak, has expanded its presence on Capitol Hill, educating members of Congress and advocating for the Jewish people, Israel, and strong U.S.–Israel ties. ZOA was the leading organization in the successful campaign to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and has spearheaded opposition to the appointment of political and governmental nominees hostile to Israel. ZOA continues to lobby for passage of the No Antisemitism in Education Act (H.R. 8476), the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act (H.R. 4795), and the Student Protection and University Accountability Act (H.R. 9203).
ZOA has also been a forceful voice with the administration and Congress to take decisive action against the Iranian regime. At our Capitol Hill Israel Advocacy Mission in June, nearly 200 ZOA participants heard from 20 bipartisan members of Congress and lobbied their senators and representatives on 11 bills addressing Iran, antisemitism, and Judea and Samaria. ZOA recently helped persuade the Senate to propose new conditions on U.S. support for the Lebanese Armed Forces in the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act.

ZOA Campus, headed by Jonathan Ginsburg, has expanded its team of campus professionals to empower college students to refute the anti-Israel lies and fight antisemitism promoted on campus. ZOA teaches students the truth about the Arab-Islamic war against Israel and the West and equips them with the facts, strategy, and confidence required to advocate for Israel and the Jewish people. Through leadership training, educational resources, and ongoing support, ZOA Campus helps students express their support for Israel and Jewish identity with pride. Nearly 40 ZOA Campus Fellows fortify ZOA on campuses nationwide.
ZOA Campus co-sponsored a major speaking event at Baruch College featuring former Israeli MK Natan Sharansky on the essence of Zionism. ZOA Campus also co-hosted events featuring former October 7 hostages, including programs at Columbia University and UC Berkeley with former hostage Omer Shem Tov. On campuses across the country this year, ZOA Campus provided inspiring programs, including advocacy workshops, Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrations, Shabbat dinners, and Krav Maga training to build community and strengthen Jewish identity.

ZOA regularly appears on television, radio, and podcasts, speaks at conferences, writes op-eds, and lectures nationwide. Our work is frequently cited in major media, including the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, AP, Jerusalem Post, and numerous other publications. I personally testified before Congress to refute the false claim that the Palestinian Authority holds territorial rights over Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. I also spoke at the JNS conference in Jerusalem, the Israel Hayom and Rage Against the Hate conferences in New York City, and the Esther Project conference in Washington, D.C., alongside Ambassador Mike Huckabee and Christian Zionist leaders Pastor Tony Perkins and Ralph Reed.
We continue to host webinars and book clubs with renowned experts, such as Israeli MK Dan Illouz (former ZOA representative in Israel), Col. Richard Kemp, and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), to name a few, to provide groundbreaking insights and analysis.
ZOA Women, founded by ZOA National Board Member Susan Good and co-chaired by Rhonda Small, continues to grow, with almost 300 women leaders signed up to lead, advocate, and mobilize on behalf of the State of Israel and the Jewish people through education, advocacy, engagement, and leadership. In a recent highlight, ZOA Women welcomed a capacity crowd at a South Florida book signing featuring Congresswoman Stefanik.
