Hamas TV: Teaching Palestinian Children To Murder Jews
News
September 23, 2009

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has pointed to a recent report of Hamas-controlled TV inciting Palestinian children to murder Jews as evidence of the toxic fanaticism that grips Palestinian society as well as of the realities ignored by the constant diplomatic process designed to produce an Arab-Israeli peace. According to a report produced by Palestinian Media Watch, the hosts of a Hamas TV children’s program, ‘Tomorrow’s Pioneers,’ the bear puppets Nassur and Saraa, speak of slaughtering Jews as a religious duty to ethnically cleanse the land. The transcript reads:

Nassur: “There won’t be any Jews or Zionists, if Allah wills. They’ll be erased.”
Saraa: “They’ll be slaughtered.” (Manhurin naher)
Nassur: “And just like we will visit the Qaaba [in Mecca]… everyone will visit Jerusalem.”
[Seven-year old Palestinian child on phone tells how his father, a member of the Hamas Al-Qassam Brigades, “died as a Shahid (Martyr).”]

Nassur to child on phone: “What do you want to do to the Jews who shot your father?”
Child on phone: “I want to kill them.”
Saraa: “We don’t want to do anything to them, just expel them from our land.”
Nassur: “We want to slaughter (Nidbah-hom) them, so they will be expelled from our land, right?”
Saraa: “Yes. That’s right. We will expel them from our land using all means.”
Nassur: “And if they don’t want [to go] peacefully, by words or talking, we’ll have to [do it] by slaughter.” (Shaht) (Al-Aqsa (Hamas) TV, September 22, 2009,translation courtesy of Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik,

ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said, “This illuminating and frightening excerpt from Hamas-controlled TV speaks volumes of the bloodthirsty, ghoulish society Palestinian terrorist movements are creating in areas under their control. It provides a perfect example of the culture of terrorism and glorification of murder that, tragically and infamously, permeates Palestinian society. Recently, we saw Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah broadcast material in a similar vein, in which Fatah promoted its claim to be at least as big a killer of Jews as Hamas.

“Instead of a genuine effort by either or both Fatah or Hamas to educate their peoples for peace, build vital infrastructures or work for prosperity, we see rather that the central preoccupation of the two largest Palestinian movements is killing Jews.

“Can there be any greater lack of realism or commonsense in the notion that the current Palestinian leadership represent genuine peace partners to whom Israel should make concessions and to whom the U.S. and the world should give financial and other aid?

“The ZOA has been drawing attention for years to the unreconstructed extremism and violence of both Fatah and Hamas. This broadcast is an important additional piece of data exposing what should be the obvious fact: that the Palestinian movement is bent on destroying Israel and its people, not building a peaceful state alongside Israel for its people.”
