The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) today announced that it has been awarded Outstanding Achievement in Website Development by the Interactive Media Awards™ (IMA) for its work on the ZOA Website. The honor recognizes that the project met and surpassed the basic standards of excellence that comprise the web’s most professional work. The site, which focuses on combatting anti-Semitism and educating the public on the ongoing Arab war against Israel, was honored specifically for excellence in Advocacy.
The judging consisted of various criteria, including design, usability, and innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content. In order to win this award level, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a small fraction of sites in the Interactive Media Awards competition earn each year.
Morton A. Klein, president of the ZOA, said, “Being granted entry to such an exclusive club by the Interactive Media Awards is testament to the standard of excellence by which ZOA operates. We’re proud of the unparalleled teamwork this honors signifies.
“Most importantly, the recently redesigned site is just a first step in expanding the depth and breadth of ZOA’s appeal, especially to the next generation of Zionists.”
David Drimer, National Executive Director of ZOA, added, “In the coming year, site visitors will see more robust social media initiatives, multimedia content and enhanced interactivity. ZOA.org will be a focal point for pro-Israel activism for all our active and prospective members.”
The Interactive Media Awards™ were created by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet and offer winners a boost in marketing and exposure. IMC serves as the primary sponsor and governing body of the Interactive Media Awards™, establishes the judging system and provides the judges for the competition.
ZOA’s score card in the competition featured across the board high marks in every category with a total of 476 points out of a possible 500, including a perfect 100 in “content,” plus high grades in design, usability and functionality. Development of ZOA.org was led by Mr. Drimer and ZOA Art Director Josh Teplow, along with MakeItAllWork.com, a web design agency located in New York City.
