The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is calling on President Obama and other world and Jewish leaders to forcefully condemn the Palestinian Authority (PA) dictator Mahmoud Abbas’ call to murder “filthy” Jews and “filthy” Christians to prevent them from “defiling” the Temple Mount and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (which are the holiest places in the Jewish and the Christians faiths). Abbas promised that those who attack Jews and Christians would be martyrs who will go to paradise. This is an immoral Nazi – like outrage. Jewish and Christian lives matter.
The Temple Mount is the site of Jewish patriarch Abraham’s binding of Isaac, the holy First Jewish Temple (King Solomon’s Temple) and holy Second Jewish Temple. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is venerated by many Christian denominations as the site of Jesus’s crucifixion, burial and resurrection – and is currently a home to Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and other Christian denominations.
PA Chairman Abbas met with a Palestinian Arab terrorist group that hurls rocks and boulders at Jews praying on the Temple Mount. (These Palestinian Arab terrorists are euphemistically called “activists for the defense of the Noble Sanctuary.”) On official PA television, on September 16, 2015, PA exhorted this violent terrorist group as follows:
“We bless you, we bless the Murabitin [those carrying out Ribat, religious conflict/war to protect land claimed to be Islamic], we bless every drop of blood that has been spilled for Jerusalem, which is clean and pure blood, blood spilled for Allah, Allah willing. Every Martyr will reach Paradise, and everyone wounded will be rewarded by Allah. The Al-Aqsa [Mosque on the Temple Mount] is ours, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is ours, and they have no right to defile them with their filthy feet. We will not allow them to, and we will do everything in our power to protect Jerusalem.”
ZOA President Morton A. Klein stated “PA Chairman Abbas’s outrageous “defile with their filthy feet” calumny and incitement to rock throwing and other bloody violence is reminiscent of Nazi propagandists who called persons of the Jewish faith “dirty Jews,” condemned moral Christians, and called for attacks upon and the extermination of innocent Jews and others.
Abbas’ incitement causes grave harm. Arab rock-throwing attacks on innocent Jews have become an epidemic. This week, Palestinian-Arab terrorists murdered an innocent Israeli man named Alexander Levlovitz and injured Levlovitz’s two daughters by hurling rocks at their car, causing him to lose control of his car and drive into a pole. Another Israeli man was wounded in a separate rock-throwing attack.
Abbas’ incitement against innocent Jewish civilians was joined by the “International Union of Muslim Scholars” (“IUMS”) – a group reportedly comprised of leaders of the global Muslim Brotherhood, including Hamas. The IUMS tweeted falsified pictures of the al Aqsa Mosque in flames and being attack by Israeli police, with the false caption “Al-Aqsa is burning Oh Umma of a billion and a half Muslims!!!” and called for a “rescue al Aqsa” alarm and campaign.
It’s a frightening disgrace that the world has said nothing about Abbas’s and the Muslim Brotherhood’s vicious incitement against Jews and Christians, the wave of Palestinian Arab rock throwing attacks against Jews, and the resulting injuries and murder of innocent Jews. President Obama and his administration, the United Nations, the Pope – all have remained silent. Apparently they believe that Palestinian Arab leaders’ incitement to destroy innocent Jewish lives doesn’t matter. But, in fact, Jewish lives matter.”
