Dr. Miri and Sheldon Adelson provided the following statement to be read at The Zionist Organization of America’s (ZOA) Louis Brandeis Gala Award Dinner held on Nov. 12 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in NYC.
“We sincerely regret that we can’t be with you tonight but we want to wish the ZOA our best wishes for success at your fabulous Gala tonight. We deeply appreciate and are proud of the important work ZOA and Mort Klein do for Israel and the Jewish people. And congratulations to all of the well deserving honorees.” — Dr. Miri and Sheldon Adelson.
Honorees and presenters included Amb. David Friedman (Dr. Bob Shillman Award), Sen. Tom Cotton (Dr. Miri and Sheldon Adelson Award), Sen. Joe Lieberman (Woo Kaisheng Award), Christopher Ruddy (Mort Zuckerman Award), Iris and Shalom Maidenbaum (Louis Brandeis Award), Alan Dershowitz, Ken Bialkin, (Past Chair of Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations), Cong. Lee Zeldin, Cong. Ron DeSantis, Rabbi Kenneth Hain, and Dr. Bob Shillman and Dr. Bruno Wu (honoring his extraordinary humanitarian grandfather Dr. Woo Kaisheng who saved thousands of Jews during the Holocaust by bringing them to Shanghai and providing them with resources and shelter there). Although not an honoree, Steve Bannon and Morton Klein also spoke.
The Myron Zimmerman Award was presented to two student activists for Israel. It was presented in front of eight ZOA campus professionals. The Emcee for the night was Rita Cosby.
ZOA is also proud that Steve Greenberg, present Chair of the Conference of Presidents, Richard Stone, a past chair, and three Israeli Knesset members also attended this spectacular ZOA Dinner.
