ZOA’s Mort Klein to Join Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on High-Level Mission to Israel
News Press Release
May 21, 2019

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is pleased to announce that ZOA National President Morton Klein will be part of a select group accompanying Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on a Business and Education Development Mission to Israel later this week. They will be meeting with the major political, business and education leaders in Israel.

Other participants include business leaders from a variety of industries, politicians and diplomats, academic administrators and religious leaders, among others.

“Gov Ron DeSantis is one of the greatest friends Israel has in the American political world.”

This mission will celebrate the extraordinary cooperation between the State of Florida and Israel, and will highlight Governor DeSantis’ personal and professional commitment to ensuring the safety, security and prosperity of the State of Israel. As we know from the Governor’s continuous efforts and dedication, and from his participation at the ZOA Florida Heroes for Israel Dinner where he announced that his fist foreign trip as governor will be to the State of Israel, Ron DeSantis is a true friend of Israel. He is proud to treat Israelis in Judea and Samaria the same as Israelis in Jerusalem and TelAviv, and is ready and willing to take bold actions to further the relationship between the State of Florida and Israel and the Jewish People.

ZOA National President Morton Klein is truly honored to be among the select few accompanying Governor DeSantis on this incredible mission. “Gov Ron DeSantis is one of the greatest friends Israel has in the American political world. I was honored to have testified along with Amb. John Bolton and Amb. Dore Gold before the House Subcommittee on National Security, which then-Congressman DeSantis chaired, where I advocated for moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and promoted U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the critically important Golan Heights. Both of those policy positions came to fruition, surely, in part, due to Cong. DeSantis’ important and highly publicized hearings.

“I am thrilled to be part of this distinguished group led by Gov. DeSantis to further strengthen the U.S.-Israel and Israel-Florida alliance. I will be reporting on this special trip upon my return.

“I am also pleased to announce that the ZOA is proud to be honoring Gov DeSantis at our ZOA Gala on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis hotel in NYC.”
