The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is now making available online here ZOA National President Morton A. Klein’s highly praised chapter entitled “Our Greatest Weapon Is Exposing The Truth. So Why Do Jewish Leaders Fail to Do So?” Mr. Klein’s chapter was published in the groundbreaking book, “Betrayal: The Failure of American Jewish Leadership,” compiled and edited by Charles Jacobs and Avi Goldwasser.  The full book is available at Amazon here and at other bookstores.  

Mr. Klein’s chapter explains that the best strategy for combatting antisemitism, and its modern manifestation of Israel hatred, is to expose, counter, and tell the truth about anti-Israel propaganda and lies.  This is because Jew-hatred and Israel-hatred are based on blatant lies.

The public sides with Israel when the public is informed about the 3,500-year-long history of the Jewish people in Israel, including in Jerusalem and Judea/Samaria; and that there never was a “Palestinian” Arab state; and that a series of binding international agreements guaranteed these lands to the Jewish people (San Remo, the Mandate—which codified the Balfour Declaration, the League of Nations Charter, the Anglo-American Treaty, and the U.N. Charter). People side with Israel and the Jewish people when they learn the truth that the Palestinian Authority (PA) pays Arab terrorists life-time pension rewards of $400 million a year to murder Jews, that the PA glorifies Jew-killers and incites antisemitism in the media and government-controlled mosques and schools.   

The chapter explains why too many Jewish organizations fail to follow this simple, effective strategy of directly countering antisemitic and anti-Israel lies. 

Mr. Klein’s chapter also lists 15 hostile-to-Israel policies of the Biden administration and explains that strong pushback from the Jewish community could have convinced the administration to change at least some of its dangerous policies. Mr. Klein also discusses certain mainstream Jewish groups’ failure to oppose Biden’s appointments and nominations of extremely hostile-to-Israel and antisemitic individuals to key administration positions.

Another section of Mr. Klein’s chapter exposes the failures of the counterproductive Anti-Defamation League (ADL)/Reut report. This is particularly timely and fascinating reading, now that Elon Musk has been calling out the ADL. The ADL/Reut report purported to provide a “coherent global Jewish response” to the “delegitimization” of Israel. But instead, the ADL/Reut report was a slick piece of Israel-bashing propaganda, that promoted a left wing political appeasement agenda and blamed Israel, Jewish communities in Judea/Samaria, and Israel’s Rabbinate, Knesset, and administration for the propaganda assaults against the Jewish State.
