New York, NY — The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ilana Lax as its new Director of Marketing and Communications. In this key leadership role, Ilana will spearhead ZOA’s messaging strategy, elevate its brand presence, and drive mission-aligned growth at a pivotal moment for Israel, the broader Jewish community and ZOA. She will be helping to promote ZOA’s agenda of opposing a dangerous Palestinian Arab state; fighting antisemitism on campuses and throughout the United States and the world; exposing the terrorist Palestinian Authority; highlighting ZOA’s lawsuits under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to protect Jewish students ─ an Act that thanks to the ZOA-led campaign was reinterpreted to cover Jews; highlighting ZOA’s work on campuses and Capitol Hill; and fighting the Arab/Islamic war against Israel, Jews and the West. In addition, she will help expose the lies of apartheid, genocide, and occupation; of the Palestinian Authority’s alleged moderateness; of Jerusalem’s alleged holiness to Muslims. Lax will be enhancing our website and social media presence, and much more.
Ilana Lax brings more than 25 years of experience in marketing and communications, with deep expertise in public relations, social media, and branding. Her work in the Jewish non-profit education sector includes marketing leadership roles at Yeshivah of Flatbush and the Schechter School of Long Island over the past decade. Prior to that, she held communications positions at several major non-profits, including a five-year tenure at the Metropolitan Opera dealing with world renowned performers and internationally known business leaders and supporters. Ilana is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
“We are delighted to welcome Ilana Lax as the new Director of Marketing and Communications at ZOA,” said Morton A. Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America. “Ilana brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications, including in the Jewish and non-profit sectors. We are confident that her expertise will play a vital role in advancing ZOA’s mission and expanding our reach during this critical time for Israel and the Jewish community and the world.”
“I look forward to working closely with the talented Ilana Lax who joins an extraordinary team at ZOA” said Alan Jay, National Executive Director. “ZOA’s great leadership team includes Susan Tuchman, Esq. Director of ZOA’s Center for Law and Justice; Dan Pollak, Director of ZOA’s Center for Government Relations; Elizabeth Berney, Esq. ZOA’s Director of Research and Special Projects; ZOA Strategist Akiba Covitz, Jonathan Ginsberg, Director of ZOA’s Center for Campus Activism as well as ZOA’s fabulous regional directors and wonderful administrative personnel.”
“I am thrilled to be joining ZOA, where I can combine my strong passion for the Jewish people and the State of Israel with my deep background in marketing and communications to help advance the organization’s mission by promoting truths that are often ignored or misstated,” said Ilana Lax.
