Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein released the following statement:
Throughout history, big lies in Europe and the Muslim/Arab world were used to inspire hatred and violence against innocent Jews. This Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohammed El-Sayed’s ad is a new antisemitic big lie to inspire hatred and violence against innocent Jews. It falsely and absurdly claims that giving over $3 billion in financial aid to Israel is causing increased food prices, which is similar to the Nazis in the 1920s claiming the Jews had caused hyperinflation.
Well, the U.S. also gives financial aid to Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, totaling over $4 billion/year — more than Israel. Why doesn’t this Arab/Muslim aid cause increased food prices? And why does the ad ignore that?
Moreover, it’s deeply offensive and frightening that El-Sayed has refused to condemn the ad, despite the uproar against it. It’s also important to point out that Israel is required to spend all of its U.S. aid in the U.S., helping to support 300,000 U.S. jobs.
Furthermore, over $2 billion of this aid to Israel is simply to reimburse the loss of $2 billion in oil revenue that Israel relinquished under pressure from President Carter to sign the Sinai peace Accords with Egypt in 1978. By Israel giving up the Sinai, it gave up the four major oil wells Israel located and developed in the Sinai. And today those oil wells would be delivering a profit of $10 billion/year.
