Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton A. Klein released the following message:
The ZOA is appalled that the entire U.S. Senate Democratic Caucus, with the exception of Sen. John Fetterman, continues to mindlessly and dangerously advocate for the idea of the so-called “Palestinian State Solution,” which is really support for the establishment of an Arab terrorist state that would be an enemy of America and a friend to Hamas, Iran and Russia, and that would continue the current radical Muslim war against the Jewish People and the West, including the U.S., which they call the “Great Satan.”
Recently, the Democratic Caucus produced a flurry of letters and resolutions that seek to promote the idea that Israel needs to allow for the establishment of some sort of Palestinian Arab entity in Judea and Samaria. These senators first complained about the fake issue of so-called “settler violence,” despite the issue being anti-Israel propaganda (see ZOA Outraged by Senate Democrats for Promoting Propaganda Lie of “Settler Violence” Yet Ignoring Daily Palestinian Attacks on Jews). Then, on August 28, 2026, Sen. Ruben Gallego led a joint statement by 29 Democratic senators expressing concerns over the Israeli government’s decision to allow bidding for new construction in legally agreed-upon Israel-controlled Area C in the E1 area east of Jerusalem, claiming that “The United States must remain committed to a two-state solution.” Why are these senators supporting a Palestinian/Hamas dictatorship that pays Arabs to murder Jews; participated in the October 7 massacre/rape of Jews and the murder of Jewish babies; promotes a racist Jew-hating policy of never allowing Jews to live in such a state; has a Fatah Charter calling for Israel’s destruction; refuses to show Israel on its maps and school atlases; has an office emblem showing all of Israel as Palestine, with a smiling Yasser Arafat and a Kalashnikov rifle; denies the Holocaust; treats women as second-class citizens; commits an average of 14 Arab terrorist attacks against Jews; and promotes violence and hatred against Jews and Christians in their schools, media, and mosques. Such a state would clearly be a larger, more dangerous Hamas-type Gaza.
It should also be remembered that on October 21, 2025, 46 Democratic senators sent a letter to President Donald Trump that urged him to reinforce his stated opposition to the state of Israel’s “annexation” of territory in Judea and Samaria.
ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said:
“Palestinian Arabs were offered a state in 1937, 1947, 2000, 2001, and in 2008 and 2014. And they never established a Palestinian Arab state when they controlled Gaza, Judea/Samaria and Jerusalem from 1948 to 1967. Every time, they rejected the offer. Not because the terms were insufficient, but because any deal that includes a Jewish state existing next to a Palestinian one is unacceptable to them. The issue is not borders. It is not settlements. It is not water or land. The issue is ideology and unbridled Jew-hatred. Throughout many decades, the Palestinians have lived by a literal interpretation of the Koran, which shapes their national identity around destroying what the Jews built, rather than around building a peaceful neighboring state.
“The push for a Palestinian Arab state is not rooted in reality. It is rooted in a Western obsession with symmetry and the need for a solution, however false this solution is. People think there are two sides, and therefore, there must be two states. But this is not a conflict between equals. It is a war of annihilation against the Jewish state. One side—Israel—wants to live in peace. The other side wants the first side destroyed. Until that changes, until the Palestinians accept Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, Palestinian sovereignty will only make the conflict worse.”
ZOA Director of Government Relations Dan Pollak said:
“It is infuriating that the Democratic Caucus has failed to consider what is best for America with these foolish actions. America’s Arab allies will be destabilized by a Palestinian Arab state being established, and none of them actually want that outcome. Israeli polls show that 89% of Israelis oppose the establishment of a state that will be run by Arab terrorists on land that is legally, Biblically and politically Jewish. After October 7, it is inconceivable to most Israelis that an international border will be located within a few miles of their families. American military officers have observed that every takeoff and landing at Ben Gurion Airport would be within range of a shoulder-fired missile launched from within the borders of the new terrorist state.
“The entire proposal is unrealistic and potentially suicidal.”
ZOA Deputy Director of Government Relations Adam Turner said:
“The ‘two-state solution’ is a foolish idea that is not a solution to anything, as it will bring no peace to Israel or the region. It is also not in the American national interest.
“Israel already exists as a state. So, the only thing the Israelis could actually get from such a solution is a true peace with the Palestinian Arabs and the other Arab nations. But the historical record of the Palestinian Arabs clearly shows that they will never agree to peace with Jews, whom they, as radical Muslims, wish to murder for being infidels.
“In 2005, the Israeli government gave up Gaza in the hope that the Palestinian Arabs would create their own state in peace. Instead, the Palestinian Arabs overwhelmingly voted to give power to a Hamas government and developed a terrorist state. They imported massive amounts of guns and bombs provided by Iran and others while building terror tunnels and rockets. For the next two decades, Hamas consistently unleashed terrorism and 35,000 rocket attacks against Israel, most horrifyingly on October 7, 2023, when they murdered 1,200 Israeli Jewish civilians in the most barbaric ways.”
The ZOA objected to additional Israeli concessions as long as the Arabs have refused to comply with their obligations under existing agreements. We correctly foresaw that the Palestinian Arabs were not interested in peace.
Considering these facts, the Senate Democratic Caucus should immediately cease its ill-advised promotion of a “Palestinian State Solution” that is no solution at all. It is only a great danger to Israel, to the rest of the Middle East, and to the U.S. national interests. It is insane to do the same thing repeatedly, while expecting different results. Senate Democrats need to cease their misguided efforts to reward the Arab Muslim aggressors in this conflict.
