Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) tweeted: Rockets are raining down on Israeli towns right now. We need to immediately help replenish Israel’s stockpile of Iron Dome missiles to protect more innocent civilians from getting killed. Let’s make sure Congress can unite and assure Israel has what it needs to destroy Hamas.”

Yesterday, Jim Jordan tweeted: “The unprovoked terror attack today and the murders of innocent Israeli citizens are a stark reminder of the brutality of Hamas and Iran-backed extremists. The indiscriminate killings of men, women, and children are sickening. We must pray for Israel, its leadership, the men and women serving in its defense, and all Israelis today. It is heartening that Congress has come together in a bipartisan manner to strongly condemn the horrendous attacks on Israel and the Israeli citizens. We must continue to support our great ally as it expels this invasion, overwhelms these extremists, and works to prevent Hamas from ever harming Israeli citizens again.”

Jim Jordan also tweeted: “America stands with Israel today and every day. It must defend itself against these Hamas terrorists. We will continue to pray for our great ally and its citizens.”

Jim Jordan also reposted the following tweet by former Congressman Lee Zeldin: “The “Democratic Socialists of America” are protesting in NYC tomorrow in favor of Hamas’ rape, terrorism, and murder of innocent Israeli citizens. This is as sick as it gets. Many Democrat elected officials in NY actively seek the endorsement of this terrorist loving group.”

(The post also shows the DSA tweet, which says: “NYC-DSA @nycDSA. Tomorrow, October 8, at 1PM. Times Square. In solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to resist 75 years of occupation and apartheid. FREE PALESTINE! twitter.com/PeoplesForumNY…”)

Sickeningly, Congressman & Squad member Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) tweeted a call for ending the weapons blockade of Gaza, saying: “. . . We need a way to end this deadly violence that is killing and traumatizing generations of Israelis and Palestinians alike – including the blockade of Gaza. I have been to the Gaza border and know that Israelis and Palestinians are constantly living in fear. . . .” [Ending the weapons blockade would allow Hamas to import even more weapons and perpetrate more violence.]

No tweets from Squad members Rashida Tlaib and Cory Bush; or from Andre Carson.

Squad member Ilhan Omar used the distorted “cycle” term and called for a ceasefire. She tweeted: “I condemn the horrific acts we are seeing unfold today in Israel against children, women, the elderly, and the unarmed people who are being slaughtered and taken hostage by Hamas. Such senseless violence will only repeat the back and forth cycle we’ve seen, which we cannot allow to continue. We need to call for deescalation and ceasefire. I will keep advocating for peace and justice throughout the Middle East.” [A ceasefire means that Hamas cannot be attacked, degraded or destroyed – even as Hamas holds dozens or more Jewish hostages, including women, children, disabled and elderly Jews – and will do this all over again if it is not destroyed.]

Squad member Ayanna Pressley also called for a ceasefire, tweeting: “These devastating attacks on Israelis are deeply alarming and my heart breaks for the victims & their loved ones. We need an immediate ceasefire & de-escalation. It is long past time to stop this cycle of violence & trauma, and work toward a just & lasting peace in the region.”

Squad member Betty McCollum (D-MN) (who repeatedly introduces heinous antisemitic bills falsely accusing Israel of harming Palestinian children – see, e.g., here, here and here) released a statement saying that “The U.S. government and the international community must immediately unite in denouncing the escalating violence in Israel and Gaza, and demand the immediate release of all hostages. These appear to be serious acts of war, and war is never the answer. . . While we await more information, my heart goes out to all those families impacted by this violence.” McCollum referred to Hamas as “Gaza militants.” She appears to be indirectly angling for an early ceasefire.
